Gyaru Secrets: Asian Dilemma♥

When I saw this, I laughed my head off and was thinking, how stupid is this person? If they meant this in a rude way that is.
Ooooo three asian girls. OMG SO BAD! Their gunna ruin our string of bad first time posters!
 What is wrong with there being asian Gals.
It's funny cuz asian gals should be dominating E_G.
 Tis their fashion isn't it?(well Japanese) They love the fashion right? They do live in foreign countries don't they?
So what's the problem?
Remember, your trying to copy asians, their not trying to copy you (In a way).
Raa fear of Viki's beauty~♥Such a nice pic~
I also like the Gal in the left corner~♥ They are all pretty.

What do you guys think?

Hi! I just randomly ended up on your personal LJ when I searched for Gyaru_Secrets. ^^; I read this and just have to say that when I saw that secret I was all like: "WHAT?! O.o What's wrong with Asians doing Gyaru?! *Completly clueless*." All those girls there look great in the style! And Gyaru is after all a Japanese invention. Everyone can do it as long as they do it right.

I also love to do Gyaru make-up, hair and co-ords. But I'm far from from as good as most other Gyaru's. And I will never dare to post on E_G or anything. I'll probably end up on G_S anyway. I'm a tall, hourglass shaped norwegian/finnish girl. ^^; Next time there is a meeting in Oslo, I live one hour from Oslo, I'll hopefully not be down with a cold and can go. If I dare though. ._.;

I agree
If you're not Japanese, and you don't live in Japan, I'd say that you're copying Gyaru style for sure. It's impossible to separate style/trends from where they are originally made and labled. Even though I'm asian, and I get "inspired" by the look, I'd never go as far as to say I'm one of them, and certainly not to say that they are "dominating" the style they coined. It is irritating that every cool trend has to get westernized and appropriated in some way. examples: yoga, sushi, gothic lolita...

At the Anime Nnorth Con, the girl who runs the workshop on how to dress lolita is a white girl...it's okay I guess, but just because we're in Canada, it does not mean that Japanese culture gurus have to be white...it is irritating to say the least.

But it's impossible to get too angry about western appropriation, because that's the reason that we north americans can even enjoy different cultural practices....so ya, it's a bit of a grey area...
